You may have heard a noise on Saturday that was every single person in Vancouver stampeding outside to be in the warm sunshine. It was a glorious weekend. I spent most of Saturday on a friend's huge roof deck getting a terrible sunburn (I forgot about that part of sunny weather). It's so wonderful to be out in the sun after such a long winter!! Peter and I went for a really long walk today and soaked it all up. It's really difficult to describe how it feels like an instant beach vacation when the sun comes out in Vancouver after a long long rainy season. While people in other parts of Canada can discuss how unfazed they are by tons of snow, or -30deg weather, us Vancouverites have our hardships too - we have to endure life without sunlight for weeks/months at a time. Until summer, when we get it all at once, packed into 3-4 months. Certainly teaches you to make the most of it!

London is a bit the same, the sun comes out and people appear from out of nowhere, parks and beer gardens are full. In England if it is 27C in April for a few days that might be summer, it might be all the summer you get an d the Brits know it!
As a side note England is currently in a drought, and let me tell you it is the wettest cloudiest drought you could ever imagine!
